The Financing Post-Secondary Education website was developed to address information gaps among students and parents about the costs and benefits of education, financial aid, and other related topics.

The content is based on a review of quantitative and qualitative research across Canada regarding access to post-secondary education and financial knowledge among students and parents. Additionally, focus groups were conducted with students at the University of Manitoba regarding the financial information they need the most and how it can be presented effectively on a website.
